An Evening of Culture and Authentic Flavors
04:30 PM – Our guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to one of Hanoi’s traditional Water Puppet Theatres for a fascinating performance of Vietnam’s unique cultural heritage.
Originating over a thousand years ago in the flooded rice fields of Northern Vietnam, water puppetry is one of the country’s most distinctive performing arts. The colorful puppets dance gracefully across a water stage while a live orchestra performs traditional Vietnamese music. Accompanied by talented singers and musicians, the show vividly portrays scenes of rural life, ancient legends, folk tales, and humorous stories that have been passed down through generations.
After the performance, continue on a guided walking tour through the vibrant Hanoi Old Quarter, where you’ll discover the city’s renowned street food culture.
Your culinary journey begins with one of Hanoi’s signature dishes, such as Banh Cuon (steamed rice rolls) or a freshly prepared Banh Mi at a popular local eatery.
Next, stop at a lively street-side barbecue, where locals gather to enjoy a variety of grilled meats, vegetables, and freshly baked bread cooked over charcoal. Pair the experience with a refreshing local beer for an authentic taste of Hanoi’s evening atmosphere.
To end the evening on a sweet note, wander through one of the Old Quarter’s hidden alleys and enjoy either a refreshing cup of mixed fresh fruit with crushed ice and condensed milk or Hanoi’s world-famous Egg Coffee, a truly unique local specialty.
At the end of the tour, your guide will arrange a taxi for your return to the hotel.
