BAT TRANG, DONG HO, BUT THAP – HANDICRAFT VILLAGES (Full day tour)

08:00 AM – Our guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi and begin a full-day journey through some of Northern Vietnam’s most celebrated traditional craft villages and cultural landmarks.

Your first stop is Bat Trang Ceramic Village, located just east of Hanoi. With a history spanning nearly 500 years, Bat Trang is renowned for its exceptional handcrafted ceramics and fine porcelain. Wander through the village’s narrow lanes, visit family-run workshops, and watch skilled artisans transform clay into beautifully crafted ceramic pieces using techniques passed down through generations.

The journey continues to Dong Ho Village, the birthplace of Vietnam’s iconic folk paintings. Created using centuries-old woodblock printing techniques, each artwork is produced entirely by hand with natural pigments made from local plants, flowers, and minerals. Visit a local artisan’s home to learn about the history of this unique art form and witness the meticulous process behind each traditional print.

Enjoy a traditional Vietnamese lunch at a local restaurant before heading to But Thap Pagoda, one of the oldest and most important Buddhist temples in Vietnam. Often regarded as one of the country’s earliest Buddhist centers, the pagoda is admired for its elegant architecture and remarkable collection of 17th-century wooden sculptures. Highlights include the magnificent Thousand-Armed and Thousand-Eyed Avalokiteshvara (Quan Am) statue, considered one of the finest masterpieces of Vietnamese woodcarving.

After your visit, return to Hanoi. Arrival at your hotel is expected at approximately 5:00 PM.
